Preschoolers, Kids & Teens Programs

While our Preschoolers, Kids & Teens programs start with a foundation in Taekwondo, we blend-in the best of multiple martial arts to achieve the perfect balance of form and function.

Your child will develop not only a skill-set in practical, real-life self-defense – but also a number of invaluable life-skills for their classroom, athletics, home life, relationships, career and beyond!

Make sure you wear comfortable clothes that allow you to participate in the sport ... Not really suitable to practice kicks in a skirt or suit! 😳

Be sure to bring a water bottle to your martial arts classes. Our martial arts classes for kids and adults are a great workout and lots of fun! Most students are grinning from ear-to-ear by the end of the class – which means their parents are too!

We don’t require parents to stay during classes. However, we do find that parents who get involved with their kids martial arts lessons truly build a solid connection. They see their child grow in confidence and skill as they progress through their belt ranks. Building strong family units is important to us at Absolute Martial Arts!

Additionally, if you want some “me-time,” simply drop them off, and go grab a coffee. They will greet you with a huge smile when you return because they had SO much fun!

No, not at all! ... We have children starting at various fitness levels.

But you WILL find that your child soon becomes fit (and stronger, more flexible, coordinated, focused, tolerant, patient, etc., etc., etc.) by enjoying our Absolute Martial Arts classes.

Our practical, blended martial arts approach is meant to be effective for EVERYONE – not elite athletes.

The journey from white belt to black belt is different for each student. But what's always the same are the benefits of improved coordination, balance, motor skills, focus and discipline. Plus, your child will make lots of great friends!

Those under 18 are not permitted in our adult-level program and – conversely – the only adults you'll ever see in a non-adult class are our fully-qualified and highly-trained instructors.

NO!!! ... Our classes take place in a collaborative environment composed of training partners, not opponents.

You’re always training with someone – not against them. Once you reach a certain level, you and your partners may participate in very LIGHT, controlled sparring from time-to-time – but only to a degree with which you're comfortable.

Sparring is not fighting ... It is a sophisticated game of "tag" in which the student learns to apply what they've learned, under pressure, in a controlled environment. The student is well-protected by top quality equipment and under close watch of an instructor.

Without having a training partner to direct punches and kicks at you, you wouldn't be able to perfect your blocking and evading skills ... Rest assured, safety is always paramount.

The “winning” happens when we work together to improve each member’s skills and strengths, putting ourselves in a position to be safe and successful outside of class.

On average, injuries in our martial arts classes occur MUCH less frequently than they do in other sports.

Safety is our top concern and we have measures in place to keep your child safe. Injuries are very, very rare here and are almost always extremely minor.

Martial Arts is probably the BEST activity for kids who sit and stare at a screen a lot!

Getting them active without them realizing that they're learning and exercising is our secret superpower ... Kicking and punching pads is also a great stress-reliever for kids with pent-up energy!

Adult Program

While our Adult program starts with a foundation in Krav Maga, we blend-in the best of multiple martial arts to achieve the perfect balance of form and function.

You'll not only develop a skill-set in practical, real-world self-defense – you'll also achieve new heights of physical and mental fitness while having FUN, forging new relationships and improving all aspects of your life!

A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y  N-O-T ... While our adult martial arts program blends the best of multiple martial arts, it's rooted in Krav Maga – a style that's meant to be practiced by everyday citizens of all shapes, sizes, genders, experience levels, fitness levels ... AND AGES!

Our current student body ranges in age from early twenties to late sixties!

If you don't want to be barefoot, you can wear socks, wrestling shoes or most types of martial arts footwear – if you happen to own any.

Be sure to bring a water bottle to your martial arts classes. If you like, you can also bring a small hand or gym towel to pat-down.

Our practical, methodical approach starts slowly – but will have you leaving your very first class with usable skills. Within our collaborative, supportive environment, you'll feel more and more comfortable with every lesson.

They sure do! ... At Absolute Martial Arts, we recognize that everyone has different limits and we’re adept at challenging each individual to be their best in a reasonable and realistic way.

No matter what your current limits might be, you WILL improve your stamina, strength, flexibility and coordination through our training ... You WILL achieve new heights of physical and mental fitness ... You WILL sweat here while also developing a basic set of tools and techniques for defending yourself and your family when an unavoidable conflict finds you.

When your family faces an attack, are you going to bench press it?!?! Avoid or enhance your time in the gym with exercise that teaches your mind and spirit while training your body. When you work out with an Absolute purpose, you’ll perform better, feel better, be better – and be safer … and all you have to do is START!

Great question! ... We begin with a light warm-up of jogging or brisk walking (if jogging is a problem for you) before getting into some calisthenic-based physical training. We extend the exercise period into drills that relate directly to our martial arts skills.

Having built-up a light sweat, we then – depending on the focus of that evening's class – learn or practice techniques in kick-boxing, other forms of striking/kicking, self-defense, weapons-defense, ground-fighting and/or other defensive situations.

We wrap-up with a few words from the instructor and a brief Q&A should anyone have points to raise, then bow-out and shake hands ... leaving better than we arrived and looking forward to the next class!
